I am heart broken. I have tried incredibly hard to be positive and optimisitc that the errors and misguided direction of things would correct itself after being recognized and identified. But i feel like i beat my head against a wall trying to get information to the dev team that they will hear and understand well enough to make changes. Each patch since R155 has shown me that my thoughts on what the game should be and the direction it continues to travel are not close enough to each other for me to continue. I have seen some great changes made in the last few months, but those positive changes are far outweighed by poor judgement and a priority in the dev team I cant even identify, and decisions based on information that is not factual or accurate. The changes that are made follow only the logic they prioritize and ignore what is actually best for the players.

Sadly, being constantly ignored and then worse, countered by what they believe is positive steps has turned me away from the optimist into a barking nag. I've gone from a positive person theat tried to be reasonble and support the team and its efforts into an angry person that logs in and immediatly gets frustrated at what is happening to a game ive been happily playing for years.

NO sense of urgency to fix things that make playing difficult.
NO effort to put the simple quality of life elements into the game that have been asked for for years.
REPETITIVE starts and stops to design features that get players excited then get dropped because the are too hard or reprioritized.
NO sense of priority to focus on what really needs to be done to make playing fun. Only the things that increase effort for minimal reward.
NEW elements that are useless to the playerbase while skipping the ones you know need to be there.
Fixing bugs that benefit the player base, but leaving ones that are detrimental.w
    Loss of friends
Loss of capability in my toon
    ETC
    ETC

I'm just one fish in a big pond, but i don't like what the game has turned me into and I need to get my head back on straight. I wish you all the best and hope to someday share an enjoyable game with you again. But for now, its time to reset and reenergize. Take care friends.

its a shame to see it, but you not the only one BigPapa. my guild has gone from over 40 members to 15 or so in the last few days and players who as of a week or two ago who used to be on 8hrs a day plus have not been seen in days. finally chatted with one today and he says that they all giving up too. they not deleting toons yet but taking a break from the constant bugs/nerfs/ignoring of feedback etc etc.

hope you enjoy your time off like the rest of us :)

I hope you do return, BigPapa. You've always been such an informed voice of reason on these forums, an actual inspiration (to me, at least) to trudge on with chin up against the gale, no-matter-effen-what the developers do (there are a few others like you; I hope they don't go). But I can certainly understand your reasoning. Maybe just play the parts of the game that are the least frustrating/stupid/hostile. Maybe just spend less time per day playing. In any event, fair thee well in your future gaming endeavors. Here at DSO, we'll keep the light on for ya.

bb bigpapa, I will be leaving soon too if they don't fix things, hope we can play together those awesome looking new mmos everybody is talking about.

DSO has become a big rip off. I'm waiting to see r161 and r162, see if they'll fix the rangers (and balance pvp) and give us the features we've been waiting for. If not, adios!
Until then, I'm mostly logging in to chat to friends... which I see more and more have quit the game.

BigPapa, i'm so novice than you in this game but ... i realized all you said even before than you, maybe because i had not all your background.
I wrote in the last period many times that current DSO team deserves only a bunch of kicks in their ... uhm ... back. But no reaction from anyone of them. Again, "we are listening to you".
    Rotfl. Liers.

They will lose so much players in the near future, and the funny thing is that they will NOT realize why this will happen.

    Pearls to swine, already said.
    Already sad.

Hope to cross arrows and swords again with you in a future day, maybe on a competitor MMO.

If you leave, good luck and best wishes.
If you don't leave ... take a good rest and wait on the riverbank ...

I don't know you but I'm sure you're a veteran in DSO, it's so sad when somebody left us for more than justified reasons. Take a breath!, in the next weeks changes in the ranger will come, in the steam mechanicus probably too, when they read all feedbacks about the last decisions from both classes a little or big corrections will be implemented, almost sure, by the way, a big shadow threatens the magician... Be patient and I hope you return soon I like read your threads. Apologize me for my awful english.;)

I really hope you come back if the game heads in the direction you want. I will miss bugging you randomly in-game. D: As someone who's dropped down to casual play times due to real life and playing a class and style that hasn't been severely and negatively affected by these updates, I can only try to empathize with what you must be feeling.

    You can't do that man!
You are the the opposite me ... I am the sick ranting b***d that always speaks loud without concerns if anyone gets hurt ... while you are nice and always put your thoughts into nice wrapping . Without you this form will be unbalanced .
To put the forum into balance either you should stay ... or I should leave too.

Hey, BigPapa, this bud's for you (hopefully it will get read before the mods delete it ... again):

    Developers Anthem

(Sung to the tune of Icona Pop's, "I Love It")

We're working on a game, we call it Drakensang Online
It's got a ton of problems, but we like to think that's fine
We read the player feedback, and we say we're looking into it
The fact is, we just make it worse.

We don't care, and we profit, we don't care

We weaken toons that have been built up over many, many years,
We say we're balancing, and pooh-pooh all the players' fears.
This game is played worldwide by more than twenty million folk
They just don't see this is a joke.

We don't care, and we profit, we don't care

You think we give a damn about what players say,
Hell no, this Skinner box is set to make you pay,
You have to farm and grind for what? A lousy drop!
But since we have you hooked, you know you just can't stop.

    We profit ... we profit

    We're working on a game ...

You're not the only one doing this. On the PT-BR forum i've seen a lot of old players quiting the game. And yet the devs do nothing to stop it. Sorry to hear that you're leaving.

Several players have ridden the emotional roller coaster that comes from making the game important. Crash and burn, then logical responses.
You're not leaving DSO, as much as you are cutting your losses. Bugpoint sucks.
Please let us know if you find something worth the battle.

    Been fun. Good hunting.

    Hello Everyone,

I really hope that you don't leave, BigPapa. Voices like yours are a very essential part of our community. Voices like yours, are the ones that people turn to, for Help.

On the one hand it is so sad to see veterans (and of course all the players) leaving, on the other hand, this unimaginably wrong strategy leaves us with no other alternatives. Moreover, great games are being created with an unimaginable rhythm as we progress.

I cannot stress well enough how this continuously money-demanding strategy from bp, in cooperation with the complete disregarding of the entire community feedback on ALL matters and the completely unacceptable drop, forces players to stop playing, or severely reduce the money spent here.

There is no big secret that community feedback will stop, since it is completely disregarded and bp is just continuing as planned.

And of course -since Truth Hurts- posts that not in line with corporate strategy, will be deleted with all kinds of excuses (if provided!)

I've had a couple of breaks in my time too. One 3 month and one 5 month break. I hope we see you again in a couple of months if they actually manage to address some of your very valid issues. If not, then so be it. Good luck in your future endeavors, brother.
