I'm a farming player and a newbie in this game.
I ask for many advice from Expert Player :
    -Farm Dungeons to 30
    -Sigrismarr 30 to 35
    -Gorga 35 to 45
Now i'm lv 42 Ranger and keep farming.
The problem is i never survive in Any Events In The Game :
-Alone ~ die, Have pt ~ keep die
Why ? Monster to strong even in Normal mode, strong double than dungeons, i have no chance even build tank.
Event Christmas, New moon or anything just For PAY player right ?
Can i ask you a honest questions Drakensang :
-Do you understand what Normal mean ?
About PAY player, i'm quit PVP because i have No chance to against them.
But still not stop there, the event just make for PAY player make me feel BAD about this game.
I have play a lot of online game, there is so much game that newbie work hard can enjoy they prize.
    Thank for reading.

It's brutal, but we've all been there when first building a character. The events are harder and quite honestly should be. Being a payer certainly has its benefits, but money doesn't buy great weapons or the best gear. It doesn't make drops better either.

Going without paying takes far more patience, but there are more than a few examples on this forum of truly powerful characters that were done by free players.

My suggestion is not to allow yourself to get frustrated by slow progress, all these events come around again and you'll be doing them before you know it. Right now, focus on grinding.

There are 5 classes in this game, dk,sw,rg,sm and newbie dk:p meaning new comers who play dk should try DEFENSIVE dk when they have nothing(gems drakens glyph etc)
The new skill ,seems useless compared to other classes new skill though, greatly enhance the importance of a newbie dk which changing the brutal situation in the past that new dk who has low dmg low survival has zero contribution to group and no one wants to team with .

From what ive seen low lvl events are much easier compared to high lvl. it's ok to die a lot in events at your level but you should just keep on trying. maybe try with friends or a good group or maybe like rhysingstar said look at the forums to see what kind of build you should try to go for. my motto with a ranged class: "If it cant touch you, you dont need defense" you can try to avoid their attacks and have high dmg but low defense but that is only if you are good enough for it.

I am a newbie too who just started the game like a month and a half ago.

Well for the winter event i knew i couldn't do the mini cause i can't tank those shots so i just focused on main event progress. For main event i knew i wasn't strong enough to farm the boss for progress item so i decided to do fast short runs for 50-60 cookies (using piggies location thanks to the wiki) and grinned for 24 days to complete the event progress.

Events are preferably for end game players but the game does let low level players (as low as lvl 20) to take part in events.
You guys have plenty of quests (hundreds) to have fun with at low levels. The maps and mobs keep changing every 5 levels and the storyline is interesting too.
But for end game players, there is nothing new to work on except for the same PW maps to farm everyday.
Events are a good break for end game players as it gives something new to work on and I believe events are designed with same idea i.e, to challenge players with mobs stronger than the usual.
Saying so, I don't mean that low level players should not take part in events, they wouldn't be allowed to participate at all if that was intended. But low level players should bear in mind that most of events are designed to suit end game players.
There is nothing fair in this game left for low level players, thanks to twinks and stupid updates. You can experience a small bit of fairness at end game alone.

As a free player You can do everything.
You can do events normal and painful modes.
You can do Parallel Worlds Painful and all the way to Fatal and You can do all these solo when you are strong enough.
You just need to farm and get strong.
You don't need to be a Paying player to do any of this.

Hm, That why i feel BAD about this game.
I can't do anything and just farm.
Do you know what events mean ? To celebrate the holyday.
And in that day you say that i keep farming like everyday.
Be a gamer, events is the important part and THEY, the developer just want PAY player take that part.
Huh ? Very Easy, right ? And how many events you miss until you can do all of that.

Who said it is very easy? Nothing comes to your hand. You have to work for it.

Think about it like this, if you were able to do events now and get lucky enough to get the gear, in a few level's you'd be melting it and farming for new gear anyway.

Once you do get big and strong, you'll spend all your time farming the parallel worlds over and over and over, until some boring event gives you something else to do.

Trust me, some of the events have more grind than the regular maps. Go back and read the feedback on some of them. Some are just downright boring. Killing the same monster a couple hundred times just to do the event is enough to make you want to pull your hair out.

Heck I'm a new player and I participate in the events but of course can't kill the big boss solo and have only finished one event line.
However, I have a skelton horse followed by a pumkin and snowman costtume along with the a over packed little gremlin. Two different toons.

I pick something along the event line I want and try to go that far without pulling out any of my hair from dying, which is almost free anyway and i have fun doing what i can.

If you are so desperate to take part in events at low level, first thing you need to learn is stop whining about P2P and F2P.
This game is one of the most F2P friendly games out there. You can literally do everything being a F2P player.
Stay low and farm maps that are 5 levels below your current level, grow strong and then take part in events. If you can't do that, work up your way to Level 50 and then start having fun.
If you can't do either of these and want to complain "F2P can't play DSO", you should move on to a different game ;)

One thing not yet mentioned, if you die too much on the maps you are on, go back to lower level maps where you don't die as often but still get experience. Look for items to melt and upgrade your equipment to improve your character. Spend a little time to build your character rather than rushing to upgrade, dying so often you get frustrated.

Skip the events until you are level 50. Just farm experience heavy maps and do quests. I prefer running the outer loop in temple sector over gorga during levels 35-45, but thats my preference. It shouldnt take too long to get to 50. If you want to expedite it, consider the 50% experience book.

At that point you'll have better options. You will be able to farm the pws in a group, and those drop legendaries at an increased rate. You'll also have access to the relatively cheaper level 46 merchant uniques for 1999/2999 ander, although you should be able to get by without those. Once you get gear and access to pws for farming, you'll also farm more ander whichvwill make it easier to up your gems to radiant.

You doing something wrong. I played temple sector from 34 to 43lvl alone and didnt get killed so easy. Also played karabossa solo from lvl35 with one or two deaths in round

How do you play? If you just stand and shoot its normal that you die. Or if you rush in group of monsters... you will be dead. Monsters are computer programed and thay have moving/attacking pattern that you only need to avoid.

Well, i don't have too much slot in my bag (28slot) to keep all that useless thing. Costum, pet, horse for what ? 5%hp, run faster, look nice --> Useless for me right now. Just 1 Pet 25%exp is the best i see in this game.
So when i get all that useless stuff, i THREW IT ON THE GROUND (thelonelyisland).

Hm ? What are you taking about, i'm just die in EVENTS MAP because the monster too strong and so many of them.
Karabossa who ? Do i missing something about farm ?

    --MERGED--

Yeah, i think now this is my only way. No orther choice.
