you said 89 dmg? isn't the max 70 ?

 

70 damage and 50% weapon damage.

 

I've been dreaming of a bow like that for a long time too
But I've been thinking... which is the best? 3x50% dmg and 89 dmg or 2x 50%dmg and 2x 89 dmg
Let's say one has royal rubies.
Anyway, a longbow like that would probably equal a mediocre 2h staff.

Second, I've been thinking... since rangers can't get insane dmg like the other classes with 2h can... I think the best option is to use what we have (quiver) and go for a crit dmg build. So I'm thinking a quiver with 4x 25% crit dmg would be a killer and I tested it and it would give more dps than 4x crit or 4xdmg. And you would still get 1500 base crit from the quiver. Combine that with 25% from gnob ring, 30 or 35% from the dark helmet, 4% from the gem. Maybe find full crit belt and full crit arrows and upgrade both to 55. You would still end up with about 60% crit but 300-350% crit dmg, 4k dmg (or even more with that dream bow?) and a skill that does 770% dmg to mobs and mini bosses and 600% to bosses.

 

It is not working that way.
You have to make good balance between the damage and critical damage. Even with 80% critical hit rate you won't be scoring critical hits with every shot ... and you never know when you will score critical ... it might cost your life.
Of course we all want high base damage and high critical damage ... but if you higher your base damage your critical damage is going down and if you higher your critical damage your base damage is lowering.
The other thing is you must have a base for the critical damage because it is multiplying your base damage ...
At the end you must have a good balance of everything.

And that 51% crit without low level legs. So it is possible to get good crit and also use shield but you need to put a lot of work in your toon (I see you already have many items upgraded to 53-55 :O ).
You have awesome dmg, crit and ok speed and you're also super tanky. This build could easily do in pvp too

Here is my ranger again, more crit, damage, crit damage and a new decent weapon
but lower hp, resistance and attack speed (old weapon had 1 line of attack speed) :/

And can everyone please stop calling me 'essence noob' in open areas? (I am still hoping that they will change the use of essence) Beacuse my damage is real!

You think he bought the glyphs?
And if his ranger is super mega op, it doesn't mean that all rangers are like that. My ranger doesn't even come close to half of his stats
His toon is the result of years of hard work + some money for gems and jesters.
Any other class can achieve that with the same ingredients. Although I do agree that tanks have a hard time in pvp ever since r155

These are the best I've found so far. Can't really justify using them though (stupid short bow with measly % and that was from Heredur Fatal).

Made some decent improvement on the PVP side. All I can say is RUN EDIT!!

 

Dear god... that is tankier than my 2H and beats him in almost everything except crit (just over 2k), HP (13.1k) and max damage (just over 3100). I'm most impressed by that 2.01 speed and the block/armor/resist stats.
