That makes my DK look like a wimp... RAs have lost all right to complain about "nerfs" to their characters this release.

have they upped the bonuses with latest hotfix? just found extraord shortbow lvl49 with 1 damage line and 2 crit lines of 435 and 514?

 

The stat lines for weapons and offhand items has greatly increased. For weapons i've seen a +63 dmg line, a 523 crit and a 17% spd. Not sure what max is but I would think close to those. I haven't seen many items though with more than two lines of a similar enchant. Don't know if this is planned(scripted) as a limitation, or if there are weapons with 4 dmg or 4 crit lines for example.

The offhand items are particularly interesting as getting a godmode 3/1 or 2/2 shield has been the goal for most. Now you can get a quiver with 3000 total crit, or a shield with 160 damage. Makes things interesting.

 

I've got a LVL 46 shield with 131 damage... pretty close to god mode for a DK offensive offhand considering a DK doesn't really have an offensive option for an offhand item.

 

I wonder when rangers will understand what R155 means.

Everyone still plays the old marking game with speed and crit. I would like at least one class being on par with SW, so here is a suggestion:

1. Use a longbow, look for 3 lines %dmg and one line dmg. You should end somewhere around 4k dmg.
2. Use wild pack and bird of prey to defend, because now they actually are scary.
3. Get on mid range and use explosive shot. You have 3 shots, if one of them hits, you are fine.

Fully skilled explosive does 400% unmarked. That is 16k dmg normal and 32k dmg critical. No need to waste time on marking anymore. No need to tiptoe around any class, especially not dks.

 

So how is it feeling post R155? Was it as bad as I expected, or does it still feel playable?

 

I absolutely understand and respect your logic on this, but IMHO marking is a necessary evil and TBH doesnt take any significant time or extra effort. The time difference to mark with hunting arrow and fire ES is the time it takes to click a second button which doubles the dmg, also slowing the target making subsequent shots eaiser to land. Also, that 16 and 32k in your example is raw damage, represent a max hit, not reduced by the typical 60% for armor. With no speed on the bow your shot speed would be around 1.4 with high level gems, meaning if you do miss, your reaction time because of the bow speed, and concentration, are both low on a closing target.

 

A longbow with 3x %dmg and 1x dmg would be perfect for pve. But everyone just uses the best bow they can find. short or long.
Good luck playing with 1.4 speed in pvp against players with 3.37. I don't know how trakilaki uses longbow in pvp, I just can't. Maybe if you found a monster longbow, then use poison green arrows, then the arrows would do more dmg than mage's fireball if you had massive base dmg. But it's just not fun for me with such low speed.
@BigPapa I found an 18.1% speed line on a short bow.

 

where are you getting the 3 shots from? i'd like to see what gems and items you need to get 4k base damage with 150 odd concentration and keep a speed high enough to be useful?? not all of us have the 200mill glyphs and max gems like Yogo does to add to our items

 

My attack speed with the long bow was much greater than 1.4 pre-R155.
I can now easily play with 2.01 attack speed ... but I feel that 1.78 is much better.
In fact I have decreased my attack speed on purpose and raised my damage instead because I was spending lot more essences in PVE ... as for PVP ... well I wasn't playing to much PVP before and certainly I have no intentions to play it now with this ruined system and no proper rewarding. I hit level 40 PVP pretty early in game ... I got what I wanted (1%attack/defense per level and those cool skills that could be used in PVE too) and after that I was playing occasionally ... now when those things are gone ... I have no real motive to play PVP.
The other reason I wasn't PVP-ing before is because I am F2P ... F2P means a lot of hard work and farming in order to make strong character ... so you don't have much time left for PVP.

 

Old hand coming back to the game to hit level 50. PvE setup as PvP just isn't very fun to me .

I'm still using one of the rings and the sunleather chain. Had to change my belt and arrows with a 4x crit belt/arrow (both found and stashed pre r155). Everything else I melted
Rangers are playable anyway right now, my char feels much stronger, although i lost ~80% crit damage and went down from a 67%crit chance with quiver to 54%. But it's ok, since i also increased my base damage by roughly 1k.

I am using long bow with inner fortitude right now. Never been that strong in pve, it feels good

I'm using the 1,60 breakpoint respectively 1,74 with skilled deadly blow for boss fights.

Knowledge is on 35, stats of long bow could be way better, so there's still much potential

 

That is some insane crit... no wonder you are still able to keep the higher than average Crit damage as a viable option. Congrats and I'm a little envious of your luck.
