Cloak Quest Area Problem.

Hello, I recently got my Cloak talent and s I was working through it, I fount some problem in the cloak Q4.
One the quests is to gather 25 drops from Heart of Atlantis, an open area.In addition to droprate being extremely bad, by extreme I mean 1 in like every 13-14 runs.Sometimes, nothing after25+ runs. Not only that, due to it being in an open area, Its very problematic as many players are killing the same targets at the same time, I have to wait for it to regen and stuff.
Please help.

 

Hey Dur, I've done that Q on several characters. Best technique for HoA is to work through the area around the library. Don't try to run through the whole map looking for what is up. There are usually 5 or 6 in the library area that spawn on a timer that starts after you kill them. Kill the first go to the next, then the next etc, then go back the first. Try to get a pattern large enough so you can keep killing and are not standing around. If you did the farming for the snow ess in the Christmas event it is similar to that.

This will help you know when the mobs will spawn in a certain place and they are not there when others run through. It's not perfect as there is a 15 or so second variability on the respawn, but it will at least put you in the right area at the right time.

 

I use BigPapa's method and pretty much dominate the map until I finish a quest... or farming snowmen for ess. XD

 

I agree with Durendals assesment of the cloak quest problem in Heart of Atlantis - endless runs with no success. Too many players competing over the same Gorgons, no drops. It would seem that this is indeed a problem that could be addressed.

 

I'm really struggling with this, i don't know if the drops aren't working right... but i'm barely getting anything from the lookout shells in Temple Sector and don't get me started with the Gorgon Warriors in the Heart Of Atlantis... i farmed ages yesterday, ages today... nothing... not even 1 drop, i got 1 drop from the lookout shells a bit ago, i've got 6 so far but i have to farm too much just to get 1 drop, i've got 4 out of 25 from the Gorgon Warriors which was the other day, but now they just don't seem to be dropping. I grouped with someone twice and i don't think they are getting drops ether, there just isn't enough Gorgon Warrors ether, everybody is farming Heart Of Atlantis for the quest but i see the same people there day after day, i don't think they are getting any where ether.

 

This quest took me over 100 zones in temple sector to complete. What count are you at?

Heart of Atlantis was 1 drop per day farmed 1 hour before dailies.

 

I farmed for over 2 hours yesterday, over 2 hours today in the Heart of Atlantis on the Gorgon Warriors alone, tried solo incase others would get the drops in a group but nothing even solo, tried the group, we got nothing.... not even 1 drop so we just went to farm Gorga we got so bored... i can't tell you how many times i've gone around and around Heart Of Atlantis and i don't go around the entire map, i focus on the left side and the middle area where most of the Gorgon Warriors spawn, but not even 1 drop today or yesterday, when i first went to do the quest i got 2 drops in 1 day, but now i don't appear to be getting anything... I think i can complete the items for the Lookout Shells in Temple Sector because i got 6 out of 9 but the Gorgon Warriors doesn't seem to be working too well. There is too many people farming but so few gorgon warriors, i was just farming for another 38 mins and went around over 10 more times, i was winning over everybody else lol but still... no drops... i give up lol there is obviously something wrong.

 

I brought this "problem" to the attention of the support team and received an entirely expected response; that you are not alone, it is a challenge for all, one should join a group for better odds of success. I, however, see it as an impediment to the enjoyment that I seek in the very reason that I play this game; perhaps even a bit unfair.

Groups don't work because peoples drop rate even in groups is more or less completely seperate now... all it does for this quest is gvies the only people in the group a higher drop rate while you are left with nothing, your better to solo it, the trick is to don't stop, just go and go and go, put on your fastest boots, hop over everything and just get back to the next location so you get there in time for the Gorgon Warriors to re-spawn again, this method usually always keeps me on top and i stick to the middle area and the left areas sorry, not right, just run around that area, a t least 8 spawn on the left area, then in the middle at least 6 - 8 Gorgons spawn around there, but make it chanalge for the others players especially for the Steam Mechanics who thrash us all... jump over all the monsters as much as you can and leave them to attack the other players to slow them down lol, evil but nessicary.

 

if they add a bigger cape, will these old cape missions still count? Will it be like the next 50 level cape? (like a continuation mission, after you finish the old ones). Or will the new cape make all the others obsolete? and you'll have to redo little and endless missions all over again for capes ?

 

Most likely they will add one, i doubt they will make us do them all again or that wil just be mean, it does actually work sometimes in groups but i think it's better with people your own lvl or near it, i just got my Cloak Of Enlightenment at last! i think they made the drop rate easier other groups i was in though never worked, but some people of my lvl invited me to theirs so i thought why not... i'll give it another try, worked great so i reccomend eveyone to be the same lvl in your group so get the best drops.
