This is what my ranger looks like, just hit 45 and been playing since july 20 (was the last day the last Gnob was on, easy to remember)

Wouldn't give me the image for some reason, so yeah, you'll have to click the link x)

I know there's things to change, open to criticism.

Obviosly, you need better gear; You might want to use those lockpicks on legendary chests because that will get you 3 legendary pieces right away.

What I did, got nothing good. not even some andermant, pretty sad.
I need to up my resistance ratings, but when I get armor or other stuff that has nice resistance, the other stats are worthless

Agree with Nova. Here's how i would attack the game from there.

    1. Use those picks and hold the rubber chicken over your head to get something good out of them.

    2. You have several slots ready for upgrade. If you want to be self-sufficient and not have to rely on groups to advance your toon, find yourself a great shield first. It can change your ability to solo overnight. If you don't want to solo, I would first focus on enough Amethysts to use that Sargon quiver so you can be a good team member and pick up grps where you can for PW's. The drops will be better there but kill rate and finding groups can slow things down.

    3. Get your health to a point that is comfortable for you then start working on Rubies and Sapphires.

BTW when I say "working" on gems. That means you farm your butt off to get ander and gem drops, then buy them on sale.

    4. The gear itself will come with time. You have more control over the pieces if you craft them, which means you will need to sell most of the items you get for gold. Focus on the Shield, Bow and Arrows first. Get something good, then move on.

    5. From there, Identify your weakest gear piece and replace that as a priority. Events can be helpful here, like the Witch set. Eventually you will be ready for a second round of upgrades, then a third, etc. Again, crafting is the route to target specific pieces.

    6. Repeat step 5 until you are all being master of time space and dimension.

    1. Done, bad stuff.

    2. Yep, trying to get some nice gems, worst case I stay at over 6k health with the sargon quiver equipped. Looking for a legendary shield, or pinks to fuse, and gold, A LOT of gold, just for that.

    3. pretty satisfied with my health at the moment, it's as good as some people with good sets etc.

    4. Bow is pretty good in my opinion: http://prntscr.com/5aefqy
Could be better but I'm not THAT lucky. Arrows/adornment gives 56 damage, sapphires embedded on it, I don't have a lot of those.
And for the shield, read above :)

    5. Pretty hard to find the worrst piece of equipment for someone who's never really satisfied lol, event sets don't seem to drop for me :(

    6. Yay, would be pretty awesome

Well done, sounds like your doing all the right things, and you're spot on with the bow assessment. The game at it's essence boils down to: kill things to get stronger and the stronger you are the easier it is to kill things. There is a hump right about where you are that once you cross, things fall into place faster/easier. When you find yourself looking for a bow to replace your predator and people are asking you to tank Khaly and mortis, you'll know you've accomplished step 6;)

Would've liked a bit more crit hit chance on the bow, this one is pretty low.
+damage or + speed instead would've been awesome too, but it does what it has to do atm.
Legendary shields drop pretty frequently on map 2, but most of them have crappy enchants, sucks.

PS: why has this been taken off the showcase thread to get an own one?

Crafted this a couple minutes ago. Yay/Nay?
Pretty upset about the crit rate, even if it's not completely worthless.

    The dreaded 'upside-down' shield 8)
Keep if you have nothing better. Try to look for reliability over big blocks otherwise you will be leaking a lot of criticals.

U should focus on events, if u don't get event items u do get drakens so u can accumulate those to buy items from gnob. Your aim should be 40% crit hit (u have that with 1400), harder part is to get 60% block rate (1400 block rate for that). Focus on red and blue attack gems, u can up crit hit with items so that saves slots for other gems. Like the guy said keep the shield untill sth better comes along, good luck...

So, It's pretty bad, 160 gold down the drain. My old royal quiver (which is actually a shield, nice one bp) does the same job better. That's sad.
Event aren't really going to help for a shield, and my unique drop is about 0 anyways. And yeah, Gnob is just a tale people talk about now, let's see when he comes back.

Are you focussing on PVP or leveling and PVE?

Armor and HP are both decent for 25, although you will face some folks that have significantly more than you because of heavy gem purchasing and GOP infusion. You are on par to a bit higher for armor and HP to the normal building toon of that level.

Your Resists are VERY good for that level and in fact could be lowered to get a bit more health or armor by changing out some gems. 45 rangers shoot for between 1200 and 1400 resist for PVP and don't worry too much about it for PVE.

what about 475-525 base damage, i disagree on the resiatnce though it only 65%

More resistance would of course be better. The reason 1200 to 1400 is the target is that the more you raise the number, the less effect it has on the % reduction with 80% reduction being the max possible. At some point you have to decide what you would get more benefit from. Raising resist by 60 may get you a .3% reduction but raising armor by 33 might get you a 2% reduction, you get more benefit from raising armor or HP at some point. In addition, 3 of the 4 classes do physical damage so it is a higher probability. Again, the choice is always yours, I would be more than happy to face another ranger with 80% resistance:)

As for damage the range sounds about right, but for pvp speed is an important element also, so you should look at your overall DPS.

I'm not at a game computer atm to verify or check, but 1800 armor is not 69%.
